A day in Athens
Sailing starts from Athens? This gives you a great opportunity to visit some of the sights and explore the capital of Greece. The Parthenon and the Acropolis of Athens are the most known and for history lovers a ‘must see’ when in Athens. But those are not the only ones. For those who want to be close by but want to avoid the tourist lines especially during a hot summer day, we could recommend a walk to Lucabetous hill or Philopappou area. And if you are not the walking type, then the open bus tours can be a good idea. Open busses now drive not only near the historic center of Athens but even to Pireaus and Glufada area, passing by the marinas as well. The taped tour guidance is good enough to give you some information about Athens and the places that you are passing by.
Of course there are many options for private tours with guidance and minibus if you would like to learn more or visit further destinations. A nice drive to Sounio could be an alternative choice, and for the island lovers, the islands that are right across Athens, like Aigina and Salamina, could be your day tour before or after your sailing holiday.
